Charles Vermilyea


 Charles I. Vermilyea   (William S.7, Nathaniel Drake, Jr.6, Nathaniel Drake5, Philip4, Peter3, Isaac2, Johannes1)
 born December 29, 1893 at Brooklyn, New York, married Mary Thompson who was born about 1894, died April 11, 1969.
 He died September 1, 1937.  They are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, (Pleasant Hill #7161) Brooklyn, New York.  
 They had no children.
 
 Charles was sent to Iowa on an orphan train, received there March 17, 1905.

 WWI Draft registration card:  Charley I. Vermilyea, age 22 Sidney, Iowa born December 29, 1894,  Brooklyn New York,
 farm hand, Willis Ballinger, Sidney, Iowa, single.  Registrant description:  Short, medium build, light blue eyes, light brown
 hair.  Card dated June 5, 1917.

 1930 Federal Census New York, Kings, Brooklyn:  Charles Vermilia, age 34, married at age 25, born New York, parents born
 New York, laborer, iron:  Mary, wife, age 32, married at age 16, born New York, parents born New York;  James Thompson,
 son age 15, born New York, parents born New York; Theresa Powers, boarder, age 2, born New York, parents born New York.
