MARION COUNTY RECORD, 29 March 2000 Obituary of ROBERT EUGENE SKIBBE Robert Eugene Skibbe, 67, formerly of Marion, died March 18, 2000, at Louisville, Colo. The youngest child of Adolph and Lydia (Reh) Skibbe, of Marion, he was born Feb. 6, 1933, at Hillsboro. He attended Kreutziger rural school. After his father died, in 1946, the family moved to town in Marion, and he graduated from Marion High School in the class of 1951. He was married to Faith Seifert Feb. 10, 1953, at Strassburg Baptist Church. He then spent several years in military service. Following many moved, the family settled in Boulder, Colo., and he attended the University of Colorado, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in computer science. He worked for IBM for 25 years and at Storage Technology for five years before retiring in 1995. After spending several years at Tucson, Ariz., Robert and Faith returned to Boulder. He was active in East Boulder Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, sound engineer, and a member of the pastor search committee. Services were held March 22 at the church in Boulder. Survivors include his wife, Faith, of Louisville; daughters, Denise Hess, Louisville, and Michelle Crawford, Phoenix, Ariz.; son, Mike Skibbe, Longmont, Colo.; sisters, Norma Raccuglia, Overland Park, and Ruth Heiser, Ramona; six grandchildren; many cousins and friends.
