BLACKISTON 18 Jun 1915 David J Blackiston, aged 69 years, a member of the bar, died last night of apoplexy at his home, 48 Washington Street. He was a widower, his wife dying 25 years ago. A sister in Chestertown MD, Miss N J Blackiston is his only immediate relative. Nephews George P Blackiston of Canton OH and A H Blackiston of San Francisco CA also survive. He was born in Chestertown MD on 24 Jan 1846, came to Cumberland in 1866, and was a member of the bar and served one year as mayor of Cumberland in 1891 to fill out the term of W M McKaig. [Photo]. Burial is in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

BRANT 28 Jun 1915 Grafton Brant, aged 77 years, died at his home in Hazen yesterday of tuberculosis. Surviving children are: Mrs Ralph Hite of Little Valley Road; Mrs Neri Dicken of near Three Mile Station; Mrs Moses Twigg of Hazen; and Mrs Emory Bohrer of Baltimore Pike. He was a veteran of the MD Brigade. Services at the Elliott Memorial Church with burial at Bald Hill Cemetery.

BROOKE 19 Jun 1915 Mrs Mary Gonder Brooke, 58 years of age, daughter of Andrew Gonder and former resident of Cumberland, died Friday (18 Jun) at her home in Hyattsville. She is survived by: her husband Joseph M Brooke; and brothers, Joseph A, Francis J and Alfred A Gonder - all of Cumberland. The funeral is held at St Jerome's in Hyattsville and burial in Mt Olivet in Washington DC.

COLUMBIA STREET SCHOOL 18 Jun 1915 The Columbia Street School is completed by W J Marley, contractor and will be occupied in September by children of North Cumberland, east of the B&O RR tracks. This brick building with terra cotta brick trimming is the most hansom in the state.

CONDON 28 Jun 1915 James J Condon, aged 45 years, a B&O RR conductor, died yesterday at John's Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore from locomotor ataxia. His body is brought back to Cumberland for burial. Surviving are : his wife; and these children, Josephine, Margaret, Regina, and James all at home. Also, a brother Frank at Mt Pleasant PA; Misses Mary and Maggie Condon, at home; and Mrs J W Reynolds. The funeral is from the home 13 Pulaski Street to St Patrick's Catholic Church and Cemetery.

CRISTAFALO 21 Jun 1915 Carmella Cristafalo, aged 33 years, died yesterday at the Tuberculosis Hospital on Haystack Mountain after being admitted on May 3rd. The Butler morgue has the body and it will be interred at St Patrick's Cemetery.

CUMBERLAND BASEBALL 05 Jun 1915 A new baseball park for Cumberland is planned for the 1916 season. The site is along the C & O Canal in Shantytown opposite the R D Johnson's Milling Company.

CUNNINGHAM 05 Jun 1915 Charles Cunningham, aged 35 years, died at Mt Savage following an injury that developed gangrene. He was an electrician for Union Mining Co. Surviving are his wife, who was formerly Miss Sarah Lynch, and 6 small children, ages 2 months to 12 years; his mother, Mrs Martha Cunningham; two sisters, Misses Mary and Agnes Cunningham; and a brother, Thomas Cunningham of Frostburg. There will be a High Mass at the St Patrick's Catholic Church and burial in St Patrick's Cemetery.

DASH 05 Jun 1915 Mrs Harriet A Dash, aged 77 years, widow of Henry Dash, who died some years ago, died at her home in Lonaconing on Florida Way on Thursday (3 Jun). She was born on Staup's farm and married in 1863. Surviving sons and daughters are: Mrs Joseph Dick of Wilkinsburg PA; Patrolman Andrew Dash of Baltimore Police Force; Mrs John H Dash of Livermore PA; George Dash of Cumberland; and William Dash and Mrs George H Whitfield of Lonaconing.

DAVIDSON 07 Jun 1915 Mrs Alice Davidson died on Saturday (5 Jun) in Union Protestant Infirmary at Baltimore, where she had been taken for cancer of the stomach. She was 71 years of age and born at Hancock, moving to Mt Savage 50 years ago. Surviving are, two sons, William and John Davidson; and two daughters, Mrs Benjamin F Witt and Mrs Frances Schuster. Her remains were returned to Mt Savage for burial in St Patrick's Cemetery.

DAVIS 02 Jun 1915 Mrs Irene Davis, aged 70 years, wife of Frank Davis of Williams Road, died at Western Maryland Hospital yesterday. Besides her husband there are 11 children surviving: William, Benjamin, Amos, Edward, Walter, Mrs Mollie Robinette, Mrs Lulu Luttrell, Mrs Bessie Collins, Mrs Rosie Collins, Mrs Elizabeth McKee and Mrs Laura Davis. Also, these sisters: Mrs Sarah Stooks of Los Angeles; Mrs Hattie Bell of Wabash IN; Mrs Martha Powell of Williamsport; Mrs S Zimmerly of Harpers Ferry WV; and Mrs Joseph Wright of Cumberland. The funeral is at Mt Hermon and burial in their cemetery.

DAVIS 16 Jun 1915 Mrs Benjamin Davis, aged 64 years, of Barton, died yesterday at Miners Hospital at Frostburg following an operation. She is survived by: husband, Benjamin Davis; son, Louis Davis; and daughters, Mrs Maggie Fazenbaker and Mrs Frances Schoppert of Piedmont. She was member of a family of 21 of whom, only 10 survive. She was an aunt of Dr G L Leidinger of Frostburg. The funeral is from the Presbyterian Church in Barton.

DEREMER 10 Jun 1915 Miss Cordelia Deremer, aged 20 years, was struck by an automobile on the concrete roadway above Narrows Park and died this morning at Allegany Hospital. She is the daughter of the late Rudolph Deremer, who died suddenly also 2 years ago at Vale Summit. Miss Deremer is survived by her mother, 4 younger brothers and sisters; and also 6 step-brothers and step-sisters: R C Deremer; Mrs Albert S Walker, Mrs Albert Shober; W A Deremer; Russell Deremer; and John Deremer. Also injured in the accident was John Clise of Narrows Park who was walking with Miss Deremer. Emmanuel Johnson, colored, a salon keeper, is being searched for by officers as the driver. Also riding in the automobile were Arley A Smith of Parsons WV and Alex Allen of Cumberland and are being held at Cumberland police station while the investigation continues. The funeral is from the M E Church at Narrows Park with Rev G D Pyle and burial in Cresaptown Methodist Cemetery. [This story is a full column long]. DiFABIO 18 Jun 1915 Dante DiFabio, aged 30 years, died at Allegany Hospital yesterday following an operation. He was a merchant at 310 Springdale Street. The funeral is from St Mary's Church and burial at St Patrick's Cemetery.

FRANK 30 Jun 1915 Mrs Sophia Frank, aged 82 years, died at her home at Hoffman of infirmities after a few days of illness. A native of Barror, Germany, she came to Hoffman 50 years ago. Surviving are 2 sons and 3 daughters: Henry and Andrew Frank and Misses Julia and Henrietta Frank at home and Mrs William Blank of Hoffman. The funeral is at the German Lutheran Evangelical Church with Rev P G Saffran and burial in the German Lutheran Cemetery.

GERBING 16 Jun 1915 Fred Gerbing of 280 N Mechanic Street, committed suicide on Monday (14 Jun) by jumping off the high C & O bridge at Cincinnati OH into the Ohio River. He was a cigar maker and had left a note in his jacket on the bridge. His wife and 4 small children survive in Cumberland. Mr & Mrs Gerbing moved here from Memphis two years ago and he had been sending money home weekly and it was thought that he was prospering and not despondent. 23 Jun 1915 The cremated remains of Fred Gerbing were brought to Cumberland from Cincinnati OH and buried at Rose Hill Cemetery.

GROSS 28 Jun 1915 Amos C Gross, aged 72 years, died Saturday (26 Jun) at his home on Bedford Street of paralysis for one year. His wife and several grown children survive. He was a member of Co. G, MD Brigade. The funeral is at Union Grove Church with Rev Pierpont and burial in the church cemetery.

HAINES 08 Jun 1915 Mrs Sarah A Haines, aged 60 years, of Romney WV, fell from her chair to the floor and died today at the Western Maryland Hospital. She had been a patient and had undergone an operation and was convalescing well. She was to leave the hospital tomorrow. Her husband, James Haines will come to Cumberland to accompany the body to Romney for services and burial.

HAINES 21 Jun 1915 Mrs Sarah C Haines, aged 67 years, died last night at the home of a daughter, Mrs E G McGill at Green Point on the Mt Savage Road from pneumonia after an illness of 10 days. She lived near Green Spring and was the widow of John Haines, who died several years ago. These children survive: Edward Haines of Cresap Street; Mrs Elizabeth McGill of Green Point; Mrs William Donaldson of Ravena OH; and William, Lucy, and John Haines at home in Green Spring Valley. The funeral is tomorrow from the Springfield Methodist Church.

HAMILL 14 Jun1915 Edward J Hamill of Kitzmiller, aged 50 years, a cashier of the bank is missing since May 29 on a trip to Clarksburg WV. A reward for information on his whereabouts is $100.00. A photo and other description is included in the article. 19 Jun 1915 Edward J Hammill, cashier of the First National Bank of Kitzmiller has been located in Detroit MI, ill in a hospital. 23 Jun 1915 Mr Hammill suffered from a nervous breakdown. HAMILTON FARM 05 Jun 1915 the Hamilton Farm near Miller's Peach Orchard was sold to Mr W Carl Richards by Auctioneer Barndollar.

HENDRICKSON 19 Jun 1915 Mrs Elizabeth Hendrickson, aged 68 years, wife of Summerfield Hendrickson, died yesterday at her home on Ridgeway Terrace after years of illness. Surviving are her husband; son, Charles S Hendrickson of Baltimore; and three sisters, Mrs Owen Willison of Mineral County WV; Mrs Carrie Wilkerson of TX; and Mrs Susan Robinson of Cumberland. The funeral is from the Union Grove Church.

HIMMLER 21 Jun 1915 Mrs Catherine Himmler, aged 91 years, widow of Bartholomew Himmler, died on Saturday (19 Jun) at the home on Knox and Centre Streets after a four year illness. Mr & Mrs Himmler were early pioneers of Cumberland where Mr Himmler operated a brewery on N Mechanic Street opposite the Wellington Glass Works. She came to America with her parents at age 11 years. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Mary Himmler at home; a son, Christopher Himmler of Dallas PA; and Mrs Kate Swartzenbach of Baltimore. Services and burial are from St Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev Carl F Bergner.

HINKLE 14 Jun 1915 Clarence M Hinkle, aged 40 years, of Mt Hermon, 3 miles East of Cumberland, died Saturday (12 Jun) at his home of amnesia and kidney problems. He was a farmer and never married. Surviving are: his mother, Mrs Hattie Hinkle of Mt Hermon; brothers, Frank Hinkle of Pittsburgh; and George Hinkle of Mt Hermon; a sister, Mrs Charles Gurley of near Cumberland. The funeral and burial is at the Mt Hermon Church and Cemetery.

JACKSON 05 Jun 1915 David Jackson died at the Miners Hospital yesterday of blood poisoning, caused after he had cut into a corn two months ago. He was born in Lonaconing, a son of the late Thomas Jackson and Jeanette Jackson and was 39 years of age. He married Miss Morton of Midland, worked in the mines, and had served in the Spanish American War in Co. E, 43 U.S. Vol. He is survived by his mother, wife, and 3 children and these brothers and sisters: John Jackson of Baxter WV; William Jackson of Midland; James Jackson of Lonaconing; Robert Jackson of Cumberland; and, Mrs Grace Jackson Weber of Baxter WV; Mrs Harry Cunningham of Grant Town WV; and Miss Margaret Jackson of Midland. The funeral is from the home and burial in Allegany Hospital at Frostburg. 09 Jun 1915 The attending physician insists that the source of the blood poisoning was in the shoulder and it is a mystery and is not satisfactorily explained.

JEFFRIES 07 Jun 1915 Leroy Jeffries, aged 26 years, a miner and resident of Consolidation Mines, near Frostburg, died yesterday of rheumatism of the heart at the Western Maryland Hospital, Cumberland. A son of John Jeffries of Frostburg, who survives along with his wife and 4 small children. Also, brothers: John H Jeffries of Midland; Isaac, Alfred, and Charles Jeffries of Frostburg; James Jeffries of Wilmerding PA; and Porter Jeffries of Cumberland. The funeral is from the home of Alfred Jeffries and burial in McLuckie's Cemetery.

JOHNSON 11 Jun 1915 Joseph Johnson was found dead in a chair at his home in Westernport yesterday afternoon after accidently drinking poison prepared for spraying trees by mistake instead of a glass of salts. His wife found the body but it was too late. He was an engine smith for the C & P RR from Piedmont to Cumberland for over 25 years. His wife and 9 children survive. The funeral is from the home in Westernport.

JOHNSTON 10 Jun 1915 Charles D Johnston died suddenly in Knoxville TN where he had removed to 25 years ago from Lonaconing. Mr Johnson is survived by brothers, Alexander and James Johnston , former residents of Lonaconing; and a sister, Mrs P H Daughtrey of Cumberland. Mrs Johnston, who survives, was the daughter of Dr J D Skilling. Mrs Johnston's brothers are: Dr W L Skilling and Dr John T Skilling of Lonaconing; Rev David M Skilling of Webster Grove PA; and sisters, Misses, Maggie, Sadie, and Fannie Skilling of Lonaconing. Added information 14 Jun 1915 Charles D Johnston, former resident of Lonaconing MD, now of 39 Laurel Avenue, Knoxville TH, fell from his office window to the pavement and was killed. He was 69 years of age and a resident of Knoxville for 22 years in the coal business. Besides his widow are: five daughters and 3 sons; David S Johnston of Birmingham; James S Johnston of Nashville TN; W Q Johnston of Knoxville; Charles D J Johnston, a student at Tusculum College; Miss Frances Johnston, a secretary at the U of Tennessee; Miss Mamie Johnston, a teacher at Tusculum College; Mrs E B Proctor of Atlanta; Mrs W S Hutchinson and Miss Lona Johnston of Knoxville.

KASSEL 08 Jun 1915 Mrs Jessie Kassel, aged 30 years, wife of the late Henry Kassel, and a daughter of Mrs & Mr Henry Carberry, died today at her parents home, 335 N Centre Street. One son, Henry Kassel; three sisters, Mrs H D Gompf of Pittsburgh, and Misses Emma and Bessie Carberry at home; and one brother, Walter Carberry at home, survive. This is the 3rd death in the past 2 years for this family. Mr Henry Kassel died at Denver CO and a brother, Harry Carberry died on April 14th. The funeral is from the home with Rev M L Enders and burial is at Rose Hill Cemetery.

KNIGHT 08 Jun 1915 Mr Lloyd Knight, aged 73 years, a butcher at Keyser WV, died on Sunday (6 Jun) at his home. His wife, who was Miss Ridgeley; one son, Charles; and two daughters, Mrs F C Reynolds and Mrs S E Hershey of Charleston. The funeral will be from the home in Keyser tomorrow with Rev A V Lonner of the M E Church and burial at Queens Point Cemetery.

LANNON 05 Jun 1915 Miss Minnie Lannon,, aged 17 years and 25 days, born on 10 May 1898, has died on 03 Jun 1915 after a long illness at Westernport. Her parents and 2 sisters, Carrie and Alma, aged 12 years, survive. The funeral is from the First Baptist Church and interment in Philos Cemetery.

LEUCK 24 Jun 1915 Mary Leuck, aged 3 years, daughter of Mr & Mrs Barney Leuck of Lacing Avenue, died at Allegany Hospital of burns suffered while playing with matches at her home on Tuesday. The funeral is tomorrow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Cemetery.

LLEWELLYN 21 Jun 1915 Mrs Mary Llewellyn, aged 29 years, died Saturday (19 Jun) after a brief illness at the home of her parents Mr & Mrs Zimmerman of Ridgeley WV. The body is taken to Cohill MD for burial.

LOOKENOTT 01 Jun 1915 Mrs Henry Lookenott of Athens OH died Sunday (30 May) at her home in Athens OG. Her sons, Dr Frederick and Thomas Lookenott left Cumberland for their mother's funeral. She was born in Vernal, Westphalia, Germany and is survived by her husband, Henry and 7 children: Dr Frederick and Thomas Lookenott of Cumberland; Mrs Henry Holderman of Glouster OH; Joseph Lookenott of Borderland WV; John Lookenott of Cincinnati OH; Mrs William Renner of Akron OH; and Miss Edith at home. Also, 7 grand children: Frances and Dorothy Lookenott of Cumberland; Fred, Arthur, Ernest and Thelma of Bordentown WV.

LOWDERMILK 21 Jun 1915 Anna E Lowdermilk, widow of Upton F Lowdermilk and a sister of former postmaster W H Lowdermilk, died on Friday (18 Jun) at her home 806 N Capitol Street, Washington DC. The funeral is from the N Capitol Street ME Church at Washington DC and burial in Arlington VA.

MALLOY 24 Jun 1915 Reta Malloy, aged 10 years, daughter of Mr & Mrs Lawrence Malloy of Mt Savage, died Saturday (19 Jun) at Allegany Hospital where she went for an operation. She is survived by parents, and Joseph, Edward, Lawrence, and Elizabeth Malloy at home.

McCANDLISH 01 Jun 1915 U B McCandlish, aged 67 years, a cashier of Davis National Bank of Westernport, dropped dead while visiting some orchards in Hancock which are owned by his son, Robert McCandlish. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Margaret Landstreet of Baltimore, a daughter of Fairfax Landstreet, and these children: Robert McCandlish of Hancock; Mrs Katherine Richardson of Fairfax VA; Misses Ruth and Evaline at home and Edward and Lindsey of NY. The body will be returned to Westernport for burial from St John's Episcopal Church with Rev McKinley celebrating and interment at Philos Cemetery.

McELFISH 12 Jun 1915 Samuel Joseph McElfish, son of Philip H McElfish, residing at the Six Mile House on the Baltimore Pike, married to Miss Maude Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Mr & Mrs David C Miller, Cumberland Valley, at the First Methodist Protestant Church.

McFARLAND 08 Jun 1915 Peter C McFarland of Lonaconing is a candidate for the Republican nomination of sheriff. His bio and photo appear in an article with 6 paragraphs of his accomplishments.

McGEE 28 Jun 1915 Peter McGee, aged 56 years, a former policeman, died today at his home, 328 Maryland Avenue of tuberculosis. His wife and these children survive: Mrs Frank Welsh; Miss Pearl McGee; Miss Catherine and Louetta McGee; and Messers. Frank, Logan, and George McGee. Services at St Mary's Church and burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

MELLINGER 12 Jun 1915 Mrs Sarah Mellinger, aged 91 years, died today at her home, 26 Columbia Street. She was the mother of the late Mayor of Cumberland, William C Mellinger. Her husband is the late John Mellinger. She was born in Middleburg MD and came to this area in the early eighties. She is survived by a son, Joseph Mellinger of Johnstown; and Miss Lucy Mellinger of Pittsburgh. Her grand children include: Warren, Frederick, Robert, Mrs George Brotemarkle, Mrs C M Gearhart, and Misses Lorrie and Evelyn Mellinger.

MORGAN 15 Jun 1915 Miss Rhea Morgan, aged 19 years, daughter of Mr & Mrs James Morgan formerly of Frostburg, died at her home at Pittsburgh on Sunday (13 Jun) following an illness of several months. Surviving brothers and sisters: George, Robert, Charles, Hazel, Annie, and Belle at home; William Morgan of Selbyport; John Morgan of Frostburg; and Mrs Joseph Parker; Mrs Harry Bittner, and Mrs Frank Sheridan of Pittsburgh; and Mrs Harry Atkinson of Keyser WV. These uncles from Frostburg: Charles, John, Eli, Thomas, and William Morgan. The services are held at Pittsburgh.

MULLIN 21 Jun 1915 Marion Deems, aged 32 years, was arrested in the murder of Laura Shaefer, a deaf mute in Westport, near Baltimore and also confessed to a previous murder with similar circumstances of March 28 in Cumberland, where Miss Margaret Mullin was murdered on Knobley Street.

MURRAY 10 Jun 1915 Mrs William Murray of Seabring OH, died on Monday (7 Jun) after an illness of one year. She left Frostburg 19 years ago and was the daughter of Mr & Mrs Dennis Bahen of Washington Street. Mrs Baher and son John, attended the funeral at the Catholic Church in Seabring.

NEWSOME 16 Jun 1915 Mrs Anna E Newsome of 33 E Street, Keyser, died and the funeral is from the home by Rev A L Loomer with burial at Queens Point Cemetery. Grand sons are pallbearers: E J King of Brunswick; L H Paugh of Grafton; Joe Newcome of Hardman WV; J E Kenney; James Newsome; and John Newsome of Keyser.

POLLOCK 26 Jun 1915 James Pollock, aged 72 years, died at his home today in Shaft from blood poisoning from a finger injury suffered some time ago. He formerly lived at Vale Summit and had mined for 20 years. A wife; son James Pollock of Frostburg and daughters, Mrs Harry Williams of Frostburg; and Mrs Cane of Midland survive.

RICE 28 Jun 1915 Mrs Mamie Rice, aged 39 years, wife of Harry Rice, died yesterday at Western Maryland Hospital following a operation. She is survived by her husband, the superintendent of the County Farms, and nine children. The funeral is at the pleasant Grove Church with Rev Pierpont and burial in the church cemetery.

ROBERTSON 14 Jun1915 Mrs Susan Berthana Robertson, aged 39 years, died at her home in Magnolia WV. S he is survived by: her husband, L V Robertson; son, Lewis Robertson; and daughter, Edith Robertson. She was a daughter of Mr & Mrs W H C House of Magnolia.

ROSENMERKLE 29 Jun 1915 C Russell Rosenmerkle, aged 32 years, died yesterday at University Hospital in Baltimore from injuries in an accident on June 21, erecting a pipe organ at St Augustine Church in Elkridge MD. Surviving are: his wife; the former Miss Mary Peeples of Lonaconing; and two small children at home, John, aged 7 years and Mary, aged 5 years. Also, his parents, Mr & Mrs Harry Rosenmerkle; brothers, Ward and Milton Rosenmerkle; and sisters, Mrs Ida Kitzmiller of Hill Street; and Mrs Henry Nelson of Norfolk VA . The body will be shipped back to Cumberland for burial from the home, 265 Columbia Avenue.

RYLAND 04 Jun 1915 Mrs Wesley Ryland, aged 70 years, died at her home in Meyersdale PA yesterday. She was formerly a Miss Slicer. She was a sister of Mrs W M Shaffenberg of Cumberland and Nathaniel Slicer of Meyersdale. She also was an aunt of Mrs G E Hammond of Cumberland. Burial will be made in Meyersdale.

SAUERBAUGH 29 Jun 1915 James A Sauerbaugh, aged 45 years, a former Frostburg citizen, died 25 June 1915 at his home in Blackfoot MT of paralysis. A son of the late Mr & Mrs W Sauerbaugh, he is survived by Mrs Gilbert Pfaff of Frostburg; Mrs L A Purnell of Wilkensburg PA; Charles Sauerbaugh of Cumberland; John Sauerbaugh of Frostburg; and Robert Sauerbaugh of Fall River MA.

SEESE 11 Jun 1915 Mrs Hannah Seese, aged 96 years, died Wednesday (9 Jun) at the home of a daughter Mrs H J Meyers in Hooverville PA after years of illness and being bedfast for the past 6 months. Her maiden name was Custer and was a widow of Jno. Seese who died 20 years ago. The only member of the old John Custer family still living is John Custer of Johnstown, also in his 90's. Surviving children are: Joseph Seese of Scalp Level; Mrs Henry Lehman of Hooverville; Mrs Henry Fyock of Salemville, Bedford County, PA; and Mrs H J Meyers and Miss Hannah Seese of Hooverville. The funeral is Saturday at Scalp Level Lutheran Church with Rev Simon Snyder and burial in Scalp Level Cemetery.

SHERMAN 01 Jun 1915 William T Sherman, aged 33 years, a fireman for the B&O RR, died today at Western Maryland Hospital following an operation. A wife and one child reside at Hyndman and survive. The body is at the Stein undertaking establishment to prepare the body for burial at Hyndman.

STEWART 29 Jun 1915 A J Stewart, a former Frostburg citizen aged 64 years, now of Pittsburgh for the past 5 years, died last night. He came to this country 40 years ago. His wife; 2 sons, and 5 daughters survive: John Stewart of Detroit; William Stewart of Baltimore; Mrs Allen Muncie of Cumberland; Mrs Maggie Ward of Dennison OH; Mrs Jennie Thomas of Detroit; Mrs Minnie Presser of CA; Mrs Mary Patteson of Detroit. The body was brought to Cumberland to the home of Mrs Muncie, 5 Hanover Street, and burial in Allegany Cemetery, Frostburg.

SWISHER 03 Jun 1915 Mrs Nettie Swisher, aged 44 years, wife of Taylor Swisher of 2 Spruce Street, died today at the asylum. She is survived by her husband and several small children. The funeral is tomorrow from Steins Chapel and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

TURNBULL 21 Jun 1915 Mrs Catherine Brown Turnbull, aged 18 years, the only daughter of Mr & Mrs David Turnbull of Detmold, died Saturday (19 Jun) at the home of her parents after 10 days of illness of acute peritonitis. She was employed at the Klotts Throwing Co and is survived by her parents; and 3 brothers, Robert, William, and Angus Turnbull. The burial is at Laurel Hill in Moscow.

TWIGG 04 Jun 1915 Dr Allen G Thurman Twigg, DDS, son of Dr AP Twigg, Flintstone married yesterday to Miss Maude A Wilson, daughter of Amon C Wilson, 20 Goethe St, at the Centre St Methodist Episcopal Church.

WEBSTER 24 Jun 1915 C. Frank Webster has been missing from Cumberland since June 1st. He is employed at the U S Post Office and is 30 years of age. Mrs James Webster has posted a reward of $100.00 for information as to his whereabouts. [This article includes added physical descriptions and a photo].

WEISEL 18 Jun 1915 Mrs Susan Fulton Weisel, wife of Joseph F Weisel, died today at her home 29 N Mechanic Street following an illness of one week. Surviving are: her husband and one brother, John A Fulton. She was born in Bel Air, Harford CO, MD a daughter of the late James A Fulton. She will be buried at St Peter & Paul Cemetery following services at the church.

WIEGAND 19 Jun 1915 William Wiegand, aged 65 years, a B&O RR engineer, died last night after an illness of several weeks of paralysis, at his home 86 Columbia Avenue. Surviving are: one son, Charles F Wiegand of NY; daughters, Misses Anna and Blanche Wiegand at home; and sisters, Mrs Frank Greenwald and Mrs S D Ways of Cumberland; and Mrs John Kemp of Chicago. His wife died in October 1912. The funeral and burial is at St Luke's German Evangelical Lutheran Church.

WOLFE 08 Jun 1915 Mr John Goodwin Wolfe, aged 62 years, died Monday (7 Jun) at the home of a son, Herbert Wolfe on Main Street, Keyser. Mr Wolfe was born in 1853 at Fincastle VA, married in 1871, and came to Keyser 30 years ago, was a brakeman for the B&O RR, and a mayor of South Keyser. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs Mamie Carter of Grafton WV; three sons, Marion Wolfe of Parkersburg WV; and John M and Herbert W Wolfe. Also, a brother, Will of Salem NC and two sisters, Mrs Gaw of Staunton VA and Mrs Nannie Guthrie of Springfield VA. The funeral is from the residence 220 S Main St with Rev G G Martin and burial at Queens Point Cemetery.

WOLFORD 07 Jun 1915 Mrs Ethel Lorraine Wolford, aged 28 years, only daughter of Charles H and Ann Wolford, died today at her home on Baltimore Avenue of a complication of diseases. She was an employee of the TIMES business office for several years and also an employee of the McMullan Brothers store for a number of years. Services will be in the First M P Church and burial in the German Lutheran Cemetery.
