ANDERSEN, Anna Catherine 
	
  Funeral services were conducted Saturday in Chico, California, for 
the eldest daughter of John and Fanny Ostervold, the first permanent 
settlers on Puget Island.  She was the first white child to be born on 
Puget Island.
  For a number of years she resided with a sister, Caty Burnett of 
Santa Cruz, Calif.
  Survivors include the following sisters; Gladys Beck of Portland, 
Beatrice Weller of Portland, Lina Torrey of Woodburn, Ore., Mrs. 
Stephen Burnett of Santa Cruz, and Evelyn Finney of Chico, Calif.  She 
is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, including C. Lloyd 
and John Ostervold of Puget Island.
