The Daily News, Longview, WA-Sunday, April 22, 2001 MARVIN HAROLD BADGER Marvin Harold Badger, 59, of Grays River, died April 20, 2001, in Astoria. He was born April 16, 1942, in Cathlamet to Harold and Hazel Erickson Badger. He was a lifelong resident of Grays River and attended school in Rosburg. He was a logging loader operator for Weyerhaeuser for 26 years. He retired in 1983 and went to work at Castle Rock Stihl as a loader operator. He also worked for Ken Wirkkala for several years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Morton, Wash. And the International Woodworkers of America. He enjoyed steelhead fishing, hunting, golfing, storytelling and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and a brother, Laverne Badger, in 1989. He married Shir Lee Carpenter Sept. 20, 1985. She survives him at home. Also surviving are two sons, Mark Badger of Grays River and Dale Badger of Kalama; two daughters, Shelli Baker of Nampa, Idaho, and Amy Reach of Everett; two step-daughters, Maria Joyce of Naselle and Charlene Bennit of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; to brothers, Raymond Badger and Larry Badger; both of Grays River; a sister, Lorraine Wendlin of Longview; 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Rosburg Hall in Rosburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grays River Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 10, Grays River, WA 98621.
