The Daily News-February 1990 SMITH, Thea B. Age 94, of Cathlamet, died in a Cathlamet nursing home. She was born in Wisconsin, the daughter of Tom and Britha Heltney. She lived in Ryderwood for 20 years before moving to Cathlamet in 1952. She had worked as a telephone operator. She attended Cathlamet Congregational Church and was a member of the Lettie Warren Guild and the Birthday Club. She also loved gardening. She and her husband, Norbert, were married in 1934. They raised their niece, Mary, as a daughter. She was the last surviving child of a family of eight. She is survived at home by her husband, Norbert; her niece and family, Mary and Eddie Olsen and children, Natalie, Darren and Nikki, all of Cathlamet; and numerous other nieces and nephews. No service was held at the request of the deceased. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge. Thea B.
