Rites For Homer Green Are Held

Military Honors Are Paid World War Veteran

Homer Watson Green was laid to his final rest in Lodi cemetery yesterday after full military honors had been paid him by the officers and members of Lodi Post, American Legion. A firing squad gave the final salute over his grave.

The deceased, a World War veteran and member of the Lodi post, passed away Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital following a long illness.

The funeral services were held at the chapel of Hale & Bawden with Ray Gerard, Christian Science reader, giving ritualistic rites. Organ selections before and after the services were played by Mrs. Lyall Martin.

Commander Wallace H. Street and Chaplain P. J. McLaughlin conducted Legion ceremonies both at the chapel and at the grave. Members of the Legion attended the services in a body.

The pallbearers were E. E. Burlington, L. N. Wilson, H. R. VanLaningham, William Preszler, James W. Gibbons and H. E. Ball.

Mr. Green was born and raised in Lodi and spent most of his life here. His father, the late Watson C. Green, was a prosperous and practicing attorney here ...
