Father of Slain Soldier Is Dead

John Linde, who resides southeast of Lodi on Kettleman lane, passed away at the Buchanan sanitarium Wednesday night from acute appendicitis, the patient being too low to withstand an operation and he passed away two hours after reaching the sanitarium.

Deceased was a native of Russia, and was aged 54* years. He was the husband of Mrs. Helen Linde, and father of Alexander, who was recently killed in action while fighting in France, Mrs. Jane Wetz of North Dakota, Mrs. Elenstine, Mrs. Deatwilder, Otto, Eugene, John, Mary, Alma and Emma Linde all of Lodi.

The funeral, which will be private, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the parlors of O.H. Wells. Rev. Weimkin will officiate and interment will be made in Lodi cemetery.
