From the Lodi Sentinel, 30 Nov 1918:
Mrs. Martha J. Mills, a former resident of Lodi, passed away at the home of her son, R. W. Mills, at Campbell, near San Jose, last Friday morning. Deceased was a native of Michigan, and aged 67 years. She was the widow of the late R. S. Mills and mother of Richard and Charley Mills, both of whom are left to mourn her loss.
During her residence in Lodi, Mrs. Mills made a great many friends who will be sorry to hear of her death. It was while visiting here some time ago, she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she never fully recovered.
