James Harry Ritchie, 62, a native of Los Angeles, who had lived in the Lodi district for forty years, passed away yesterday at his home, Route 3, Box 276 on the lower Sacramento Road, Lodi. He was widely known as a farmer and for many years was employed by the American Fruit Company and the Pepper Fruit Company.
Mr. Ritchie was the beloved husband of Mrs. Dora Ritchie and the father of Mrs. Lynn Drake of Modesto, Miss Maxine Ritchie of Lodi and James A. Ritchie of Lodi. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Charles Burt, Miss Georgia L. Ritchie and Mrs. Frank Geisler and a brother Charles Ritchie, all of Los Angeles.
Other survivors are four sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. They are Mrs. Eli Springer of Lodi, Mrs. Anna Allison of Clements, Mrs. Bessie Lewis of Sacramento and Mrs. Nancy DeClercq of Lodi and William Stacks of Lodi.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Lodi Funeral Home with the Rev. Benjamin Smith of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the family plot of Liberty Cemetery.
