From the Lodi Sentinel, 29 Oct 1918:
Ernest K. Ryan, a street car conductor of San Francisco, who was here on a leave of absence of three months to work in the fruit, passed away Saturday at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Carey at 122 West Oak street. He became ill with influenza on October 20.
Deceased was a native of California, and was aged 33 years, 1 month and 26 days. Besides his parents he leaves a brother and half brother, Raymond Carey and Willian Ryan and two sons Earnest and Jerald. His wife died about two years ago.
The funeral was held yesterday mornign at 10:30 from the chapel of O. H. Wells thence to the Catholic church in Stockton. Father McGough officiated and interment was made at Stockton.
