Hester J. Tyers, Nurse, Dead of Dread Malady

Last night Hester J., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Tyers of Christian Colony, passed away from influenza. Deceased had been ill since Oct. 20th. She was 18 years old, and was a sister of Thomas Tyers, with the American forces in France, Paul and May Tyers of Acampo.

Hester Tyers was in training as a nurse at Stockton and contracted the disease while waiting upon patients.

The funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Wells chapel. Interment in Lodi cemetery.
