From the Lodi Sentinel, 5 Nov 1918:
There will be military services tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Wells chapel for the late Private Vernon White, who died of influenza while enroute to France. The services will be held at Lodi cemetery and Rev. E. J. Bradner will officiate. The remains arrived yesterday afternoon on the 3:30 train.
The Lodi stores will remain closed during the hour of the funeral.
The deceased was well known and popular throughout this section, and the business men intend to turn out and pay their respects by marking from the parlors to the arch. Hartford Post No. 155 G. A. R. will attend in a body, meeting at the I. O. O. F. hall at 3 o'clock. The Woman's Relief Corps will also attend.
