Boulder County Biographies/Family Records : Case
The following information on the Case Family was submitted by Lottie Hendricks
Jonathan Levi Bruning married Mary (Truitt) Bruning in Jamestown, Boulder County, Colorado in 1880. They lived in the old Golden Age Mining camp, and then later near Spruce Gulch before moving to the valley floor, near Haystack Mountain. They raised a family of 4 children to adulthood. Their son, Frank Bruning, was my Grandfather. Jonathan Levi Bruning and Mary Truitt Bruning are both buried in the Niwot cemetery.
- Elizabeth Hobson Case died 2 Jan 1884, near
Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado. Milton Bell Case died 29 Mar 1896,
in Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado.
- Mary Jane Case, the fifth child from Milton
Bell Case's first marriage, was my great grandmother. She married Emile
or "Miles" Jain in Georgetown, Clear Creek County, Colorado on 26 Dec 1869.
They lived on various farms in Boulder County, before settling permanently
on a farm near Haystack Mountain, Boulder County, Colorado. They raised
a family of nine children, my grandmother, Lottie Jain, being their last
born.
- Emile, or "Miles" Jain came to Colorado about
1865. He married Mary Jane Case in Georgetown, in 1869. They lived on various
farms in Boulder county, the last one being near Haystack Mountain. They
raised a family of 9 children, my grandmother Lottie Jain being their last
born. Miles and Mary Jane Case Jain are both buried at Green Mountain Cemetery,
in Boulder, Colorado.
- James A. Truitt, who married Prudence A. Drake,
in Stark County, Illinois in 1860. Prudence died somewhere in the Midwest
(probably either Illinois or Iowa). After Prudence's death, James moved
with his children to Jamestown, Boulder County, Colorado sometime prior
to the 1880 census. James A. Truitt is buried in an unmarked grave in Jamestown,
Colorado.
- James A. Truitt's sister, Henrietta Truitt, outlived 3 husbands. Her spouses were as follows: 1. Andrew Emanuel, 2. M. U.. Steel, and 3. Joseph H. Bunce. She only had children by the first husband, thus there are 5 Emanuel children with descendants I would like to learn more about. Henrietta had moved to Colorado sometime prior to the 1880 census, and lived in Jamestown, and then later on a ranch near Allenspark. I have an old local history which states that the Bunce School house, in Boulder County, was named after her. She is buried in Lyons.
