Rosenwinkel, 75, of Plano, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 1998 in Sun City, Arizona. He was born February 3, 1923 in Wooddale, Illinois the son of Adolph and Esther (Franzen) Rosenwinkel. Harold was united in marriage on January 5, 1946 in Bensenville, Illinois to the former Ella May Butenschoen and they spent the next 52 years of their lives together. Mr. Rosenwinkel was a member of the English Congregational United Church of Christ in Big Rock. Harold was a well known farmer in this area for many years. He was a member of the Kendall County Pork Producers, Kendall County Farm Bureau, the Plano Rotary Club, and the Plano Chamber of Commerce. Harold enjoyed nothing more than repairing mechanical things and traveling, with his wife, Ella May, to interesting and fun places. Survivors include his wife, Ella May, of Plano; four sons, Howard (Becky) Rosenwinkel, of Plano, John (Sue) Rosenwinkel, of Plano, David (Debby) Rosenwinkel, of Big Rock, and Michael (Tammy) Rosenwinkel, of Bristol; sixteen grandchildren; one sister, Marion (Ed) Crispeels, of Bensenville, Illinois; as well as many friends who will miss him. He was born on May 8, 1915 in Plano to John and Ruth (Finman) Baines. Ben was united in marriage to the former Helen Day on May 11, 1937, and they spent 60 wonderful years devoted to each other and their family. Being active, involved, and committed to his numerous civic, business and family responsibilities was the cornerstone of his life. He lead by example being loyal, morally strong, serving with honesty and integrity. With great pleasure, he served the Fox Metro Water Reclamation district. He acted as Board President for twelve of his fifteen years of service. He was extremely proud of the district's staff and their combined accomplishments. Many state and national awards have been received under his leadership. His love for the District's staff was profound. Some of his other civic duties over the years include: board member of the American Cancer Society, founder of Copley Hopital `Mend a Heart Program,' director of Kane County Fair Board, vice president of Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Business Council, board member of the Downtown Christmas parade, recipient of 1991 Outstanding Member Award of Illinois Association of Wastewater Agencies, captain of Aurora College fund drive, First Presbyterian Church deacon, and sixty year Elk's Club member. Prior to his retirement he was vice president of 1st Federal Savings of Aurora, vice president of Shabbona Silica Sand, and held other sales positions earlier in his career. Wagner, 72, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 1998 at Provena-Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora, Illinois. He was born May 24, 1925 in Chadwick, Illinois to Carl and Daisy Wagner. He was a member of the Oswego Presbyterian Church, Yorkville American Legion Post #489, Twin Ponds Club, Third Ward Club and a 26 year member of the Raven Masonic Lodge #303 A.F. & A.M. of Oswego, Illinois. He served with the Seabees, a branch of the U.S. Navy in World War II where he was a survivor of the West Loach Incident, a naval disaster that listed casualties second only to Pearl Harbor. After, his military service he went to work for the railroad presently known as the Burlington Northern Santa Fe retiring in 1982 as a roadmaster and spanning a 40 year career. He was married February 22, 1964 in Waterman, Illinois to the late Jeane Marsh who died on February 19, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his father Carl H. Wagner, a brother Jerry R. Wagner. He is survived by his mother Daisy Wagner (92 years) of Milledgeville, Illinois; two brothers Carl J. (Betsy) Wagner of American Fork, Utah, Monty (Nina) Wagner of Yorkville, Illinois. Beck, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 1998 due to a long and courageous battle with chronic emphysema. Rudy was born in 1917 in Olomovc, Czech Republic (near Prague) and lived in Warrenville (DuPage County) for 50 years. Rudy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Greta and Otto Karpfen. She is survived by her husband, John Beck; son, Peter Beck (Sharon) of Warrenville; daughter, Shiela Johannson (Gil) of Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Dean and Robin. Rudy is also survived by her sister, Lisa Gruner and brother, William Karpfen both of Los Angeles, California. Through her nursing work, Rudy was loved and appreciated by countless families in DuPage County for the past 50 years. She received her nursing degree in Bradford, England and during WWII came to live in Illinois. Rudy was one of the first nurses to pioneer and become certified in the field of Geriatric Nursing and Rehabilitation. Rudy's nursing career included employment at Copley Hospital, DuPage Convalescent Center, Manchester Manor, and most recently St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville, Illinois. Rudy was an active volunteer with the DuPage County Senior Citizens' Council. Positions she held at the Council included: Past President of the Council, Past Chairperson of the Health Committee and Representative for Winfield Township. Andreasen, 69, of Loves Park, Ill., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Andreasen was born July 16, 1927, in Elgin, the daughter of Harold and Alma Fink Johnson. She lived in Loves Park the past seven years, coming here from Aurora. She married Ralph A. Andreasen in Elgin, May 26, 1951. She formerly owned and operated a knitting shop in Oswego. She also was a doll maker and especially enjoyed Door County. Andreasen graduated from Elgin High School and attended the University of Illinois. Survivors include her husband, Ralph Andreasen; two daughters, Karen (Gary) Bergquist of Roscoe and Kris (Michael) Bernier of Bloomington; and four grandchildren, Ryan and Adam Murphy of Roscoe and Evan and Quinn Bernier of Bloomington. She was born January 10, 1914 in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Austin High School in 1931 and Beloit College in 1935. She married Edmund Britz in February of 1944 in Chicago, IL. and joined her husband in Bavaria Germany from 1946 to 1948. Later she returned to college and received her Library Science degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She was a Past President of the All Women Campus Organization, Past President of Panehellenic Council, Past President of Delta Gamma Sorority, Life Member of the Illinois St. Andrew Society and the Art Institute of Chicago. Before her retirement, she worked for school district 303 in St. Charles for 23 years. During that time she became the Head Librarian at Haines Junior High School. She has been a life long member of the Presbyterian Church; many of those years at the Fox Valaley Presbyterian Church in Geneva. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Schuler of North Los Vegas, NV and Cynthia (Richard) Davito of Brookfield, WI; two grandchildren, Kimberly Jean Schuler and Brandon Ross Davito; two special friends, Rollie Schuler and Barbara Miller. Cansino Maria G. Cansino, 83, of Aurora, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 4, 1997 at her home. She was born January 28, 1913 in Mexico. Maria was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an active member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, and also enjoyed being a member of the Recycled Teenager's Club of St. Joseph Church. Maria was one of the founding members of The Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. Joseph's Parrish. Maria was a seamstress at the Aurora Women's Coat Co. until her retirement in 1975. She enjoyed listening to music, cooking and gardening. She was a very caring person who will be dearly missed by all. Lawrence Northop Lawrence Northop, 76, of Plato Center, died Monday afternoon, January 13, 1997 at Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. He was born April 7, 1920 in Garden Prairie, IL, the son of Merle and Nettie (Roby) Northrop. He married Inas I. Sistler on October 16, 1943 in Geneva and farmed in the Elgin and Dundee Townships. In 1947, they purchased a dairy farm in Plato Center which he operated until his retirement in 1990. He had also worked for Delaval of Hampshire for several year. He was an avid fisherman and spent many summers in his cabin at Lake Holcombe, WI. He also enjoyed traveling and dancing. Larsen, 70, of DeKalb, formerly of Elburn, passed away Sunday evening, January 19, 1997 at Hines Hospital, Maywood, IL where he was recently admitted for cancer treatment. He was born September 14, 1926 in Elgin, IL the son of Alden and Laura (Johnsen) Larsen. Bob grew up in the Lily Lake/Virgil area where he attended local schools and at the age of 17 enlisted in the Navy. The country was engaged in WWII and for a time, Bob was in the center of that storm. Serving in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippines, Bob's ship earned a commendation of which he was justly proud. On returning home from service he joined his father and brother who were then farming in Big Rock. He loved to dance and found his life's greatest love on the dance floor at Sandwich one night. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Ann Ackerman on January 26, 1951 and they made their home in Hinckley. Over the years they lived in many communities but spent most of their lives in the Elburn area. Bob was a graduate of the Dr. Salsbury Chicken Short Course and serviced chicken farms in the area. That experience lead to his life as a feed salesman. He sold feed for a number of companies through the years including Kent and Baker feeds but sold for DeKalb and Hintzche for most of his years in the business. Bob was a life time Cub Fan and Democrat and never walked away from a good argument about either of them. For many years he also served his party as Blackberry Township Democratic Precinct Committeeman. Happiest in the midst of people, Bob Larsen truly never met a stranger and seldom forgot a face or a name. He was an active member and past president of the Elburn Lion's club, a member and past commander of the Elburn American Legion Post #630 and the founder of the Elburn Men's Monday Night Golf League. He was immensely proud of his family and his heritage. Audrey Ann Hoffman Audrey Ann Hoffman, 53, of Hinckley, passed away on Monday, January 20, 1997 at Rush-Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital in Chicago. She was born on November 22, 1943 in Chicago, the daughter of Holger Vilhelm and Christine Johanne (Larsen) Nielsen. Audrey was united in marriage on August 28, 1965 in Lombard, Illinois to Mr. Larry Hoffman, and they spent the next 31 years of their lives together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Audrey was a member of the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Hinckley. She was a charter member of the Hinckley Junior Women's Club, having served as it's district 12 President from 1976 to 1978 and a 30 year member of the I.F.W.C. Audrey was an active member of the Hinckley volunteer fire department as an E.M.T. She will long be remembered as having served for many years as the assistant secretary for the Sandwich Fair Association. Audrey was a Hospice volunteer and a 4H leader. Among all her other accomplishments, Audrey will be sincerely missed by her many friends and co-workers as the Nelson Funeral Homes, where she was always willing to help in any capacity that was needed. What more can be said about a woman who was always willing to give more than one hundred percent of herself. Kim was united in marriage on December 4, 1976 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Aurora to Mr. Albert Franzen. She spent her years as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister and will be deeply missed by her loving family. To all that knew Kim, there is no doubt that the most important part of her life was her family. The time and energy that she gave willingly to them and her community will always be remembered and appreciated. To list just a few of the many ways that she shared herself with others, Kim was a co-founder of the Hinckley Food Pantry and was very instrumental in its' continued growth as she worked endlessly as one of its' active supporters. She was currently active as a troop leader and bookkeeper for several area Cub Scout and Girl Scout troops; as well as, serving as the P.T.O. Treasurer and 4H Leader. She was previously employed as the Office Manager for Illinois Supply and was the Past President of the National Association of Women in Construction. He was the first son of six children born at home on November 8, 1907 in Geneva. After his parents, Charles and Anna Lindahl came to Geneva from Sweden, "Ollie" worked for 35 years as a Letter Carrier for the Geneva Post Office. Mr. Lindahl graduated from Geneva Community High School in 1925. He was a member of Geneva Evangelical Lutheran Church. "Ollie" was a member of Geneva Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies of Chicago, Fox Valley Shrine Club and Medinah Shrine Temple. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Viking Lodge, Geneva Historical Society and the Benevolent Order of Youthful Seniors. "Ollie" was selected to serve on the Advisory Commission on Historical Preservation by former Geneva Mayor, Richard Lewis and also served in that same capacity for the late Mayor William Ottile. His community honored him at the halftime of the 1994 Homecoming game as Honorary Captain and truest Viking fan for his 70 years of loyal support to Geneva Football Teams. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Leila; two children, Carolyn Erlandson of Hildreth, Nebraska and Myron of Hermantown, Minnesota; two sisters, Elsa Larson of Sandwich and Ruth Lindquist of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a brother, David of Geneva; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
