Dodge City Daily Globe (unknown date) Minneola ---Earl Haskell, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at the Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. He was born Nov. 14, 1917, in Ford County to Perry and May (Camp) Haskell. He married Opal Barns on Nov. 7, 1936. She preceded him in death in 1979. He married Lorraine Shanteau on Aug. 11, 1979. She preceded him in death in 1990. He then married Mabel Halling on Nov. 8, 2001. She survives. He was a lifetime area resident, living in Dodge City and Minneola. He retired in 1982 from the Natural Gas Pipeline Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Minneola. He was also a member of the Kansas State Fiddler's Pickers and Singers Association and the Moose Lodge, Dodge City. Survivors include his wife Mabel, of the home; son, Robert Haskell of Dodge City; stepsons, Dr. Richard Shanteau of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Pete Hinson of Billins, Montana; stepdaughter Sandra Purkey Pile of Wichita; grandsons, Brad Haskell and his wife, Trista, and Dr. Brent Haskell; great grandchildren, Hannah, Laryssa and Aaron Haskell; four step-grand children; and six step great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday, December 17, 2001, at Minnis Mortuary Chapel, Minneola, with Rev. Paul Hindman officiating. Friends may call from 1 PM until 7 PM Saturday and Sunday at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
