Bucklin Banner, August 16, 1901 Another Called Away Oscar Dittimer McQuerry was born on March 27, 1882 at Burlington, Coffee county, Kansas, and died August 8, 1901 at the home of his brothers 6 1/2 miles southeast of Bucklin. He had been sick three weeks with typhoid malaria. Every one knew him by the name of Ody. His mother died on January 28, 1884 when he was scarcely two years old. In the spring of 1889 his father, J. S. McQuerry brought Ody and his two brothers Mack McQuerry and William McQuerry to this part of the state and settled on the land he now occupies in Clark county. The funeral services were held at the church in Bucklin at 11 o'clock, August 10th. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. T. B. Paramore of the M. E. Church. The remains were followed to their last resting place by a large number of sorrowing friends whose sympathies go out to the bereaved father and brothers.
