Mrs. Charles D. (Laura) Weaver Obituary Obituary from Dodge City Daily Globe, December 5, 1972: Mrs. Charles D. Weaver Colorado Springs, Colo.--Mrs. Charles D. (Laura) Weaver, 86, a former Dodge City area resident, died Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was born in LaVada, Mo., April 18, 1886. She came from Missouri to the Bucklin community with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Brown. She married Charles D. Weaver and he operated a barbershop in Dodge City, Spearville and Bucklin when the family lived in this area. After leaving Dodge City, they farmed in the Manter area before making their home in Colorado Springs. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Mantor. Survivors include her husband, of the home; sons: Donald E. , Lyman, Colo.; Curtis H., Cole Camp, Mo.; sisters: Mrs. Minnie A. Grove, Pueblo, Colo.; Mrs. Lula Scheel, Canon City, Colo.; brother; Elmer Brown, Bentonville, Ark.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Basil L. Johnson, D.D., will officiate.
