Hutchinson News, The - (Jun/26/2004)
Micheal E. Achilles, 53, died June 23, 2004, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita,
following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 8, 1950, at McPherson, the son of Virgil W. Achilles and Lu
Achilles Wall. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1968 and then attended
McPherson College. He worked as a marketing consultant at the High Plains
Journal, Dodge City.

He belonged to Church of Christ, Dodge City.

On Jan. 2, 1991, he married Marites "Tess" Mangonon at the Philippines. She
survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Chris, Manhattan, and Ryan Achilles,
Rochester, Minn.; his parents, McPherson; a brother, Stanley, Newton; and three
grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Windom Cemetery, Windom,
with Glen Elliott presiding. Glen Elliott and Gerell Kidd will conduct a
Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Monday, at Church of Christ, Dodge City. Visitation
will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, with the family present, at Glidden-Ediger
Funeral Home, McPherson
