D/O Benjamin Franklin Willsie and Minnie Apple. She graduated from Clarinda,
Iowa high school in 1928. She attended Maryville State Teachers College in
Maryville, MO and taught school for a number of years at Braddyville, Iowa; Des
Moines, Iowa and Andover, Kansas. During this time she attended Wichita State
University and attained her degree in teaching and went on to teach elementary
children at Irving grade school in Wichita, Kansas where she later retired. She
taught many children how to read. She married Charles Leroy McKee on July 7,
1934. He predeceased her in death as well as her oldest son, Dr. Weldon L. McKee
of Roseville, CA and two brothers and two sisters.
