He loved sports and was raised on baseball and basketball, which he avidly
played all through his younger years. Greg was a member of St. John's Episcopal
Church and was an acolyte from the 6th grade through high school. He graduated
from Wichita South in 1965 and from Friends University in 1969 with a BS in
Business Administration. At Friends, he joined the golf team and won his letter
four times. After college, he enlisted in the Army and served a tour in Vietnam,
where  he was awarded two Bronze Stars, an Air Medal, two Army Commendation
Medals, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Joint Service Commendation Medal. He
then served as a recruiter in Wilkesbarre, PA. Greg decided to leave the
service, and he entered law school at Oklahoma City University in 1973. After
graduation, he joined the Army for the second time and served in the JAG in
Germany from 1976 to 1979, where he obtained the rank of captain. When he
elected to leave active duty, he became an assistant City Attorney in Lawton, OK
from 1980 to 1981. He then started a private law practice and also served as a
part-time Municipal Judge. It was in Lawton where he met his wife. Greg was well
liked, and he was elected as the President of Commanche County Bar Association
in Lawton in 1985. Greg and his wife left Oklahoma in 1992 and started anew in
San Antonio. Greg began his law practice.  Greg was preceded in death by his
father, Virgil Neil in 1998.
