Age 44, of Beverly, MA, died unexpectedly, while visiting relatives in Wichita,
KS. Born in Salem, MA the daughter of Robert Hughes of Beverly and the late
Joanne (Marraffa) Hughes, Mrs. Zak was educated at St. James Grammar School and
was graduated from Salem High School. She then married and began her family. For
many years she was employed as an answering service operator on the North Shore.
As a hobby she became accomplished in ceramics and later became a member of the
New England Ceramic League. She enjoyed her unique talent and was recognized in
many shows, winning several awards.
