Jefferson City News-Tribune, January 3, 2003, Jefferson City, Missouri Robert Thomas Adams, 81, Shelbyville, Ill., formerly of Fulton, died Dec. 31, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Fulton, a son of Oscar L. and Myrle Craighead Adams. He was married June 16, 1947, in Fulton, to Wanda Dean Morts, who survives in Shelbyville. He owned and operated Adams Construction Company in Fulton for 25 years. He worked for LaCrosse Lumber in Fulton for 20 years as an estimator. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Fulton. He was a member of the VFW in Fulton and Shelbyville. He was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. Other survivors include: one daughter, Devona Jo Eversole, Tower Hill, Ill.; three brothers, Richard Adams, Fulton, Kenneth Adams, Hartsburg and Odie Adams, Independence; and two grandsons. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Stephen Sowder will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
