Fulton Sun Gazette, Jan 14 1930, Fulton, Callaway, Missouri John William Boles, 78, a life long resident of Callaway Co. , widely known farmer and former school teacher, died at the Callaway Hospital in Fulton Tuesday morning at 6:45. Mr Boles had not been well for several days, suffering from Pleurisy and heart trouble and was brought from his home in Auxvasse to the hospital Monday. After he arrived here pnuemonia developed, the complication causing his death. Funeral services are to be held at the Christian Church in Auxvasse Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by the Reverand A.F. Larson, pastor of the church. and burial will be in the Auxvasse Cemetery, south of that town. Mr Boles was born near Hams Prairie Feb 24 1851 and would have been 79 years old next month. He was the son of the late Samuel and Susan Muir Boles. He had lived in Callaway Co. all his life, residing on a farm east of Auxvasse for many years after his marriage , and for a number of years lived in Auxvasse. He was married August 18, 1881, to Nellie Boulware who survives and who is now seriously ill at her home in Auxvasse: a daughter, Mrs. R.A. Brown , who lives with her parents and a son, S.B. Boles, of Maud, Oklahoma, also survives., as do a half sister and brother, Mrs. Eva Wise of Hams Prairie and William Nichols of Fulton. Mr. Boles taught in the schools in Callaway Co. for many years.
