Jefferson City News-Tribune, December 24, 2003, Jefferson City, Missouri George L. Plybon, 71, of Fulton, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, MO. He was born March 4, 1932, the son of Lewis and Helen (Hill) Plybon. On January 21, 1952 he was united in marriage to Neoma Zimmerman. She survives at the home. Mr. Plybon worked for Commonwealth Theaters for 28 years and owned and operated GP's liquor store until 2002. He also owned the Christmas Tree Lot next to the store for many years. He found most enjoyment working and visiting with people. In addition to his wife of 51 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Helen Plybon of Fulton; one son, Wayne Plybon and his wife Malinda of Auxvasse; one daughter, Lori Craig and her husband Kevin of Fulton; two sisters, Gloria Wren and her husband Clayton of Jefferson City and Betty Fischer and her husband Bob of Fulton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends. His father and his son, Jeffery Plybon preceded Mr. Plybon in death. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 27, at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, MO with Brother Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, MO. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday, December 27 at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, MO.
