Jefferson City News-Tribune, October 9, 2001, Jefferson City, Missouri John A. Sitton, 49, Holts Summit, died Oct. 7, 2001, at his home. He was born July 8, 1952, in Jefferson City, a son of Ansel T. and Mary Grace Adkison Sitton. His mother survives in Jefferson City. He was married Aug. 16, 1986, in Jefferson City, to Sheryl Bauer, who survives at the home. A 1970 graduate of Jefferson City High School, he attended Southwest Missouri State University and Drury University, Springfield. He owned and operated Sitton Transportation and Sitton Farms, and was a motor coach operator for Mid American Coaches. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 596, Tebbetts, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693, and the Tebbetts United Methodist Church. He also served on the board of directors of the Callaway County Water District 1. Other survivors include: one brother, Jerry Sitton, Monett; his stepfather, Albert Hall, Jefferson City; and two stepsisters, Sherry Williams and Connie Hamilton, both of Kansas City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Driscoll will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, with an Independent Order of Odd Fellows service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Tebbetts Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 596.
