Amos R. Buffington

HANNIBAL – Services for Amos R. Buffington, 86, of Hannibal will be 2 p.m. Friday in Grand View Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tom Sneed officiating.  Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park.  Mr. Buffington died at 1:43 p.m. July 1, 1987, in Levering Hospital. 

He was born Aug. 30, 1899, in Monroe County to Seth W. and Molly Bare Buffington.  He married Dolly J. Peters April 28, 1923.  She survives.  Other survivors include two sons, Robert E. Buffington of Hannibal and Donald D. Buffington of Lake Charles, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Erma J. Thomas of Hannibal; one sister, Mrs. Stella McForley of Chicago; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

Mr. Buffington was a retired shift foreman for the Hannibal Rubber Plant.  He was a member of the Fifth Street Baptist Church and the International Organization of Odd Fellows Lodge at Hannibal.  Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
