Pearl May Calhoon Mrs. Owen Calhoon Dies Mrs. Pearl May Landis Calhoon, wife of Owen Calhoon, died at Audrain county hospital in Mexico, Thursday afternoon, September 18 at 1:30. She was born May 13, 1890. They were married March 15, 1912. Seven children were born to them: Elmer Calhoon of Mexico, Mrs. Louise Gibbs of Stoutsville, Harold Calhoon of Yuba, Calif., Mrs. Alice Chapman of Marysville, Calif., Mrs. Ida Lou Moore of Benton City, Eugene Calhoon of Newton, Ia., and Albert Calhoon of East Moline, Ill. She also is survived by 23 grandchildren, five brothers, Russel, Charlie and Claude Landis of Victor, Jewell Landis of Hannibal, Clyde Landis of Montana, and Willis Landis of Washington, and two sisters, Mrs. Jay Booth of Santa Fe, Mo., and Mrs. Margaret Otts of Springfield, Mo. The Calhoons have lived in Florida the past 17 years. Funeral rites were held at the Wilkey funeral home in Perry, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. John Golden of Hannibal in charge. Casket bearers were Orville, Herbert, Earl and Everett Francis, James Booth and Donnie Landis, all relatives of Mrs. Calhoon. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
