Wetmore died very unexpectedly at the home of his son Harry, just east of Paris, Monday night at 11 o'clock. Mr. Wetmore had been in failing health for several months but had been able to be out most of the time until the day of his death, having spent part of Saturday in Paris. Wagons of his manufacture were used by Hugh Grant and others in their trips to California during the gold rush in 1849. He later embarked in the livery business in Paris as senior members of the firm of Wetmore and Cissell. About two years ago he retired from business and conveyed all his property to his son Harry. Mr. Wetmore was a Mason and Knight Templar and a member of the Christian Church. The funeral was held at the family residence on Wednesday afternoon.
