George Vanlandingham Geo. W. Vanlandingham Dead Geo. W. Vanlandingham was buried at Antioch Monday.  Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Haiser.  The entire community and people from distant communities turned out to pay a last tribute of respect to his virtues as a neighbor and citizen.  He was survived by all six of his children--George, William, Thomas and James Vanlandingham; Mrs. T.J. Rowe and Mrs Charles Sansbury, and was carried to his grave by sons of these children-- Price, Ross, Geo. and Dave Vanlandingham, Virgil Sansbury and Sam Rowe.  Deceased lacked only a few weeks of being 86 yrs. old. He was born in Bourbon Co., Ky. and came to Missouri at an early day. Most of his life had been spent in the old neighborhood south of Paris and the influence of his sterling virtues had been potent through all these years. Few men have raised so worthy a family as his. Few men have been more tenderly loved by their neighbors and friends.  His death followed injuries he received in a fall last Friday. His hip was broken and the shock of his system was too much for one of his age. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church. Source: The Monroe County “Appeal” dated 21 Jan 1910.
