Lyle Denton Henderson L. D. Henderson Lyle Denton (Denny) Henderson, 60, of Independence, Kan., brother of Herbert and Dwight Henderson, of Monroe City, died at 4:00 o’clock Sunday morning in St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kan., where he had been a patient twelve days. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Hobart Hildyard, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Internment was in Grand View Burial Park, Hannibal, Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. Deane K. Lierle officiating at the burial service. Mr. Henderson was born on August 12, 1904 in Monroe county, a son of the late Eugene and Octavia Dooley Henderson. He was a graduate of the Paris high school, and also attended Chillicothe Business College. Most of his life was spent in Hannibal, moving to Independence, Kan., in 1955. He was an auditor for the Universal Atlas Cement Company, having been employed by this company more than 40 years. Mr. Henderson was married to Miss Fern Hedges of Hannibal in 1933, who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Phyllis) Layton, St. Louis; and a son, Terry L. Henderson, a student at Kansas State University. Other survivors include the two brother mentioned above, Donald Henderson, Topeka, Kan., Mrs. Earl Swearengen, Amarillo, Tex., and Mrs. Leamon Watts, Moline, Ill., a grandchild, nieces and nephews. Mr. Henderson was a member of the First Methodist Church in Independence and a member of the Kiwanis Club.
