Solomon Miller SOLOMON MILLER DIES Solomon Miller was born in Dark county Ohio in 1840 and died at Seymour, November 6th, 1926, age 86 year, 7 months, 9 days. In 1865 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Derell. To this union was born ten children. James Miller, Solomon Miller and Frana Howard reside at Wheatland, Wyoming. Janey Graty, Dayton Ohio, William Miller, Lamar Missouri, Hattie Jennings, Idaho, M. P. Miller, Frank Miller, and Louis Miller. He came to Missouri several years ago and was a good citizen always ready to help his country. When the war of 1861 was declared he was among the first to offer his services. He joined the 18th Indiana infantry Company B. He was in some of the greatest battles of the war. He was in the battle of Gettysburg, and the last great battle of the war, just prior to General Lee's surrender. Having served four years and six months in the Federal army he was honorably discharged. Several years ago he united with the Christian church. His wife dying several years ago he was again united in marriage in 1922. He leaves to mourn his departure a wife, 10 children, 56 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held in the Goss cemetery in the presence of a large crowd of sympathizing friends. The services were conducted by Walter Goss. Submitted by MouseColtr@aol.com.
