ROY GREENWELL George Roy GREENWELL, 74, of southeast of Shelbina, passed away about 11:30 Tuesday morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hannibal. He had been in ill health some time. Mr. GREENWELL was born Dec. 5, 1889 south of Lakenan in Monroe county, the son of George Josiah and Annie GOUGH GREENWELL. On June 13, 1922 he was united in marriage to the former Beatrice BELL in St. Paul Kans. Mr. GREENWELL was very active in community affairs. He and Mrs. GREENWELL had received the Nolen Parental Award in Monroe County in 1960. Mr. GREENWELL is survived by his wife and six children: Mrs. Robert (Mary Bell) GRANT, of Bartlesville, Okla.; Mrs George (Juanita) YATES, Monroe City; Mrs. Robert (Nellie Ann) LANHAM, Monroe City; George Joseph GREENWELL, Bernard GREENWELL and Mrs. James (Kathleen) HALL, Jr., all of Shelbina; two sisters, Miss Anna Ryan GREENWELL of Lakenan and Mrs. Ernest (Mary) VanMARTER of St. Louis; a brother Maurice GREENWELL of Shelbina and 34 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, a sister, Floy and a step-mother, Lillie GROUT GREENWELL. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning in St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Leo BUHMAN officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Shelbina. Rosary will be said Wednesday night at 8:30 and Thursday night at 7:30 at Hayes Funeral Home. There also will be a rosary at 2 p.m., Thursday by the Daughters of Isabella at the funeral home.
