Cleo Scobee Death of Cleo Scobee Miss Cleo Scobee, daughter of Mrs. J. W. Scobee, died at her home in Paris last Friday evening after an illness of almost one year. The funeral service at the Baptist Church Sunday afternoon was a community affair in which all the resident pastors took part and in which hundreds of people mingled their grief with that of the family. No finer tribute could have been paid to the fine character and lovable disposition of the deceased young woman. Rev. Selah delivered the funeral discourse. The Scripture lesson and prayers were by Rev. Moorman. Dr. Richmond closed the service with a very tender personal eulogy of Miss Scobee and words of sympathy for her family. Deceased was 29 years old and a member of the Methodist Church. She was stricken about a year ago and had been a great, though very patient sufferer. Following the funeral service the body was buried in Walnut Grove. Source: Darla Henderson, from an obituary collection saved by her grandmother, Frances Kathleen (Scobee) Henderson.
