James W. Scobee The funeral service of James W. Scobee, who passed away suddenly in the Goss Methodist Church on Sunday night, October 13, was held in the same church last Friday morning. The service was conducted by Rev. J. H. Snedd before one of the largest audiences ever assembled at that place. The remains were held for the arrival of his son Floyd, who resides in Idaho, and daughter Mrs. Eula Varney, whose home is in New Mexico. Mr. Scobee was one of those pleasant, congenial, big-hearted men with whom strangers were impressed on first acquaintance. But it was by his family and intimate friends that he was known for his real worth. His kind nature and goodness of heart made him an ideal husband and father, and won the highest esteem of all his many friends. Mr. Scobee was a member of the Methodist Church at Goss, having convened and united with that church at the age of 23 years, and living a faithful Christian life until his death. He leaves a wife, four children, an aged father, several brothers, one sister and numerous friends to mourn his loss. Our sympathy goes out to all of his relatives, but especially to the afflicted wife, who having fallen on ice last winter and sustained a fractured ankle has been unable to walk since...
