Russell Scobee Russell T. Scobee of Columbia, formerly of Paris, died Friday night at his home in Columbia after an illness of several years. At the time of his death he was a juvenile officer of the state parole board. Funeral services were held at Columbia at 2:00 Sunday afternoon, with burial there. Surviving him are his widow, formerly Miss Mary Stewart of Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jean Burto of Belleville, Ill., and Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Ricker of Columbia, two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Duard Henderson of Florida, and a niece and nephew Carol and Carol Conley of Paris. Born east of Paris, Scobee was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Scobee. He was a graduate of the Paris school and the University of Missouri and for several years superintendent of the Paris school system. He went from here to Jefferson City to an administrative position in the office of Lloyd King, then state supt. Of schools, later became superintendent of Jefferson City schools and from there went to the position of superintendent of Little Rock, Arkansas schools. He retired from that position because of ill health and returned to Columbia, later joining the state parole board. Scobee, while here and in other school positions was an outstanding educator, and unusually successful in administrative work in the school systems where he worked. Among those from Monroe County who attended the funeral of Russell T. Scobee at Columbia Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bottger, Mrs. Eva Conley, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Conley, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Simon, Mrs. Bertie Scobee, Mrs. Nora Scobee, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Sam White, Lloyd Krummel, A.
