Welcome to Hawaii County

Hawaii County, also known as the Big Island is the home of the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, home to two of the most active volcanos, Mauna Loa and Kilauea, Mauna Kea Observatories and the Volcano Goddess, Pele.  It is also the birth place of King Kamehameha I. (Read about King Kamehameha I & the Naha Stone)

It is the southern most island in the chain of island counties in Hawai'i.  Kauai and  Niihau being the oldest and northern most, followed by Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, Kaho'olawe, and Hawai'i.

Hawaii or the Big Island as referred to by the Kamaainas is also where my paternal ancestors immigrated to and raised their
families.
